BR-NC’s Referral Program

Over the years, BR-NC has had the good fortune of having more potential adoptive homes than available rescue Borzoi. Our Referral Program makes more dogs available to our potential adopters and, at the same time, allows us to educate the public to buy only from a reputable breeder. Through the Referral Program, breeders and owners get access to excellent homes while retaining full control over placing their dogs.

How It Works

• The breeder/owner provides us with a detailed description of the Borzoi, pictures, and all terms for placement of the dog.
• We notify our Potential Adopters List of the available Borzoi.
• Those interested in the dog contact the owner/breeder directly, and the owner/breeder makes all the arrangements as far as contracts, fees, etc.
• If the placement doesn't work out for any reason or if the Borzoi is ever in Rescue, the dog goes back to the owner/breeder.
• The owner/breeder remains totally in charge of the dog's placement and responsible for the dog’s welfare into the future.
• We recommend the owner/breeder ask potential new owners to fill out our Adoption Application and send it to the owner/breeder.
• We also strongly suggest that a home check be done before placement and will help arrange for one.
• BR-NC asks for a $100 donation if the owner/breeder places the Borzoi with one of our listed homes, but this fee may be reduced or waived in cases of financial hardship.
