About Borzoi Rescue – Northern California

Neeka

Borzoi Rescue – Northern California is an independent, non-profit organization that provides assistance with rehabilitation, medical care, and permanent re-homing for any Borzoi in a rescue situation. Our principle geographic area is Northern California, Oregon, and Nevada, but BR-NC will assist any Borzoi, anywhere, who is abandoned or otherwise homeless.

Founded by Jacqueline Gregory in 1983, BR-NC maintains and provides information on all aspects of Borzoi rescue, such as direct links to regional and national rescue groups, a list of volunteers willing to provide transportation or foster care for needy Borzoi, and names of veterinarians willing to provide low-cost services to rescues.

Using our network of volunteers, BR-NC conducts in-home checks of prospective adoptive owners and provides follow-up educational services for new owners of rescued Borzoi. We also coordinate closely with other Borzoi rescue organizations, other sighthound rescue groups, and with local and national Borzoi clubs. BR-NC urges all Borzoi breeders to conduct in-home checks of future puppy buyers, and we are happy to coordinate in-home visits throughout our area.

BR-NC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) California corporation. A non-member animal welfare group, we are run entirely by volunteers. Contributions are fully tax-deductible. All money received goes directly toward the costs of rescue.
